THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA 20th ANNIVERSARY COMPILATION
in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya anime, we are starting an open call for a compilation to be released at the end of the year going beyond a tribute to nostalgia, this compilation wants to celebrate what haruhi has meant and can still mean 20 years later in the landscape of otaku culture and subcultural expressions: to celebrate 20 years of networked culturessubmission guidelines
- remixes/bootlegs and original songs are all welcomed, as long as the sonic materials/samples/lyrics are closely connected with the haruhi suzumiya franchise - open to all genres. personal/diy/doujin/experimental/subcultural approaches to production, genre and music making in general are particularly welcomed - the compilation will be distributed as free download via bandcamp (nyp) and soundcloud, and later to other streaming platforms - please note that participants artists will receive no monetary compensation for participating. streaming royalties will be arranged to go to the artist if requested, please do so individually after the end of the open call (late november) - completely or mostly ai-generated music is not allowed on this compilation. we are interested in community through music-making over content production. ai assistance (like stem separation) and some forms of creative incorporations are ok, but please be upfront about the latter if any - also if there are like 10 hare hare yukai remixes i might have to cut some off. there is plenty of music you can work with from the osts, ops and eds, character songs, digging into it is appreciated!! deadline for submission is november 13please send your mastered tracks in .wav format via the form below ↓ or here
